Privacy Policy
Bi Bak: İzmir collects, stores and transmits no personal data. There is no account to create, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking of any kind.
In short: we cannot see what you do in the app. There is no server of ours, no user record, no cookie, no advertising identifier. Your data stays on your phone.
Data that stays on your phone
The following is kept only in your device's own storage. It is never sent to us or anywhere else, and it is not backed up to any service of ours.
- Your favourite stops and lines
- Your settings — theme, text size, language, haptics, home shortcuts
- Your location — momentarily, only to find the stop nearest to you
Deleting the app removes all of it from your phone. No recoverable copy exists anywhere else.
Location permission
Your location is used to sort nearby stops, on-duty pharmacies, car parks, street markets and city services by distance. The distance calculation happens on the device; your location is not sent anywhere for it.
The one exception is the weather on the home screen. For it, your location is rounded to two decimals (about 1 km) and sent to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway). Your exact location never leaves the phone and is never stored.
You may decline the permission; the app works without it, lists simply are not sorted by distance. You can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings › Bi Bak: İzmir.
Camera permission
The camera opens only to scan the QR code printed on a bus stop sign. The image is not recorded, not stored and never transmitted. Only the stop identifier contained in the QR code is sent to ESHOT's service to resolve the corresponding stop number.
Network connections
Lines, stops, timetables and routes ship inside the app — no network request is made for them. Only information that changes over time is fetched, directly from the public services below. No server in between belongs to us; requests go straight from your phone.

As with any internet connection, these services see the IP address the request comes from. That information never reaches us and is not recorded by us. Those institutions' own data practices are outside our control.
For power outage queries the app opens GDZ Elektrik's own page in your phone's browser. From that point on, that organisation's privacy policy applies.
Advertising and analytics
None. No ad network, analytics SDK, crash reporter, social tracker or advertising identifier (IDFA) is used. No profile of you is built.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages. Since no personal data is collected from any user, no data about children is collected either.
Data source and independence
City data comes from the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality open data portal (CC BY 4.0 and the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Open Data Licence). Bi Bak: İzmir is an independent app; it is not developed or endorsed by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above is updated. Any change that would introduce data collection will additionally be announced inside the app.
